Hi, I am Rohit Vairamohan. I design simple, intuitive user experiences and engaging interactions.

CoTr: Stock Trading App

‘CoTr (Collaborative Trading) is a platform that stock market traders can leverage to take quick and effective decisions by collaborating their expertise and skills in key market sectors from diverse markets around the globe.’ This takes into consideration traders who have gained expertise in market sectors like Agriculture, Retail, Healthcare, etc. and also those who have gained expertise in different market domains all over the world like NASDAQ, Shanghai Stock Exchange, Bombay Stock Exchange, London Stock Exchange etc.

Despite the fact that stock traders many times trade in different market domains with the help of an expert, their colleagues or someone they know, there isn’t a collaborative platform currently which makes it easy for them to form a team, define a budget and trade with others effectively in order to maximize their earnings and profits. CoTr considers these drawbacks and allows an easy way for traders to work together.

The Design Process
Brainstorming

We started to discuss about this idea over a cup of coffee. Our plan was to emulate what big trading organizations did on an micro level. We started to think as to how we can empower individual traders to form groups and help them increase their profitability by venturing into new markets and unknown portfolios. Wde discussed as to what are the key features that such a system ought to have and what the users would like to have. Based on these discussions we put together a rough outline of the features and how they were connected to each other.

The rough outline

Prototyping

Post our brainstorming sessions, we constructed several prototypes of different fidelities and tested them with people. We made several changes in terms of usability and features with each step of prototyping.

Axure Prototype

Final Prototype

The iterative and rapid prototyping lead us to design a final prototype of our system, ‘CoTr’.
