UX work at Nationwide

I was a part of three major projects at Nationwide. The first one had me designing a system ground up to help associates deploy apps on the app store(SPOT). I also helped the lead designer in her efforts to revamp the organization-wide intranet website. Both of these projects and the details regarding the same are confidential.
The third project that I worked on was a voluntary project. I designed an app for associates at Nationwide, to help them register for courses at the Wellness Center. This process had been a paper and pen process up until then.

The Process
Stakeholder and User Interviews

To kickstart this project, I interviewed both stakeholders and users of the current ‘paper and pen’ process. During the semi structured interviews, I addressed various needs of the stakeholders as well as feelings and attitude of the users towards the current system.

Paper prototyping and Usability Testing

I constructed a paper prototype based on the findings from the interviews. I then tested this paper prototype among associates of different demographics. There were some interesting insights I garnered from this test. The main reason for doing a usability test with a paper prototype was to accommodate for changes early in the design phase and to facilitate another test with the prototype on a second set of users.
